ABOUT ME.
My name is Lauren Morgan and I am currently enrolled in my last semester at Tiffin University. This May, I will earn a Masters of Business Administration (MBA); Sport Management concentration. Originally from Washington, D.C.,
I currently reside in Louisville, KY. Prior
to enrolling at Tiffin, I earned a BS in Journalism and Mass Communication
(Electronic Media & Journalism) from North Carolina A&T State
University in 2011. It is my goal to use the combination of my BS and MBA to
embark in a career in collegiate athletics, more specifically sports
information.
While obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Journalism and Mass Communications, I worked as the Sports Editor for The Register, a weekly student based paper published on the campus of North Carolina A&T State University. Along with being the sports editor and being responsible for covering sports such as men's and women's basketball, tennis, softball and baseball, I also had the opportunity to serve as a Sports Information assistant/Intern with Guilford College athletics.
While at Guilford I completed a variety of tasks including writing/editing and maintaining profiles of current athletes and coaches as well as those in the Guilford College hall-of-fame. Among other duties, I was responsible for recording statistics for multiple sports through Microsoft Excel. My responsibilities also included updating information on the Quakers website, selecting and editing photos to be published online, as well as preparing game-day programs. Working as a Sports Editor and as a Sports Information Assistant has given me valuable knowledge of the inner workings of collegiate athletics and my knowledge of sports has expanded.
The purpose of this site, is to showcase my knowledge of professional & collegiate sports, communication & fundraising in sports, and the duties and responsibilities of a graduate student completing an athletic internship/mentorship.
